"When Christian Jensen first tasted the vintage gins from London’s lost distilleries, he began a journey. Creating a finely balanced gin that honoured these lost or forgotten recipes became his obsession. That’s why Jensen’s is distilled in small batches, using only traditional gin botanicals. So there’s really nothing new about Jensen’s, and that’s why it’s different. Distilled in Bermondsey, London, Jensen’s is gin as it was. Gin as it should be.
After lying dormant for decades, London’s craft gin scene is once again on the rise. It’s amazing to think that once upon a time, some 17,000 stills operated within the City of London, fuelling the city’s first gin craze. Today, there are but eleven licensed craft distilleries scattered across the city, from Battersea to Bermondsey and these represent the first new licensees since Beefeater in 1820! Jensen’s is one of these. Focusing on crafting small batches of authentic, 20th century style gin (and much earlier in the case of the Old Tom), the small team behind Jensen’s distillery are emblematic of the new breed of passionate, well versed distillers slowly rejuvenating the London Gin scene.
Housed in one of the Bermondsey railway arches, just behind London’s Maltby Street, everything about Jensen’s - from its 500 litre cap, custom built John Dore & Co column still, to its ‘lost recipe’ London gins – is built on authenticity."
