From one generation to the next, the Dopff and Irion families, whose origins date back to the 16th century, have made the most out of their heritage. René Dopff was an emblematic and prestigious producer, who influenced the Alsace wine industry during most of his life, while the Irion family name was synonymous with generations of vine-growing in Riquewihr.
Since the foundation of the winery, the harvest had always been done by hand and the wines are crafted using the utmost care. Their wines continue to be served at the Elysée Palace and Buckingham Palace, two vestiges of the old-world tradition that converge deeply with the Dopff name. The Cave des Vignerons de Pfaffenheim, a prestigious cooperative recognized by many international competitions, bought the Dopff & Irion winery in 1997 to continue this incredible heritage.
