Holm Oak can be found in the magnificent Tamar Valley region of Northern Tasmania. Established in 1983, it is named after the 100 year old oak tree grove that surrounds it. The grove was originally created with the view to using the wood to make tennis racquets. Holm Oak has been owned by the Wilson family since 2004, and the running of the business is a 100% family affair, with winemaker Bec Duffy (nee Wilson) and her viticulturalist husband, Tim Duffy, heading up the team. Their grape growing philosophy is to produce the cleanest product with the softest management practices available. In the winery, Bec takes an increasingly minimalist approach, using natural fermentation and only minimal additions and filtration. The result is beautifully pristine wines that speak of place and vintage, and showcase what Tassie wine is all about.
