2013 Katnook Odyssey Cabernet
Machine-harvested, crushed and destemmed, fermented in a mix of open and closed fermenters, 5-10 days on skins, matured for 36 months in French (56 percent new) and used American oak. Obviously, oak leaves a footprint on the wine, but there is a wealth of blackcurrant/cassis, bay leaf and spice to provide balance to a warm hearted, generous wine that can be enjoyed now or in 20+ years. A enduring part of the Coonawarra landscape since its first vintage in '91. Drink by 2037.
