  • Riesling for the acid-lovers amongst you. This is taut, wrapped around a core of steel, mineral water and lime pith. Just released, this aged Riesling utilises the best parcels of Riesling from Tim Adams Clare Valley holdings.

This is a prodigious wine, and befitting of such a cool vintage. The German's have been harnessing the potential of Riesling grown in cool, wet and cloudy conditions for centuries, so when a vintage like that strikes the Clare Valley, it can only mean good things.

Its bright, lively and young. Incredibly this will age for another generation, and will benefit from many years in the cellar, to soften up and blossom into its full potential.

100% free run juice from our most premium Clare Valley Riesling vineyards. The use of only the very best 500 litres per tonne of grapes has resulted in this wine being very intensely flavoured and aromatic. We have allowed five years of bottle ageing before releasing this wine, which has consequently developed the added complexity of toasty honey and blossom characters. This wine has been sealed with a WAK cap closure; an internally threaded screw cap, providing technology with a traditional appearance and ensuring that this wine will cellar for 20 years in good conditions.

Growing Conditions - 2011 was a cool and wet vintage, fortunately we were lucky to have harvested all of our whites prior to the extended wet period. This provided excellent growing conditions for mineral rich, highly taut Riesling.

The wine has well lifted Riesling character with citrus aromatics of lime, lemon and grapefruit. The palate is seamless with moderate viscosity and an extreme acid finish. Rieslings from the Clare Valley are most enjoyable when young and zesty, or left to mature beyond five years of age.

'Clare Valley Riesling, released as a six year old. Price isn’t bad when you factor a) the quality and b) that they’ve done all the cellaring for us.

Talk about drinking at its peak. This is in a great drinking place. The aromas are just wonderful. Lime leaf, spice and pure lime essence, all of which follows faithfully onto the palate. There are grapefruit flavours here too; this is a white wine of intensity, character and bite. It carries a green tinge and beautiful length; it has many years ahead of it but it’s hard to go past it right now. Everything where you would want/hope it to be.'

'Also released as a six-year-old. A subdued, almost steely, mineral water and grapefruit nose with the barest faint hint of toast. The palate is explosively acidic, a wild ride of super grapefruit acid, the intensity of the finish exceptionally long and powerful. This is an acid giant of a wine, perhaps not ready now, but with a length that is simply amazing. Bargain price. Best drinking: 2019-2031+. 18.5/20, 94/100+. 10.5%, $29. Would I buy it? Great value and delicious. Yes for sure.'
