  • THE BRIEF
  • At Brothers in Arms they put their hearts into full-bodied wine that is true to the estate and true to the region. The wines showcase quality fruit and reflect the spirit of a family tradition. Since being established in 1998 they have achieved national & international recognition for the Brothers in Arms bottled beauties.

Although the original focus was on Shiraz the wines in their portfolio have evolved over the past decade and they now produce all estate grown Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and blends thereof which showcase Langhorne Creek's ability to offer elegant wines with balance, structure and texture.

The range of No.6 wines celebrates the Brothers' children as the 6th generation of the family to live and make wine from the Metala property.

  • THE FINER DETAILS
  • The grapes are sourced exclusively from the Metala Vineyards and Langhorne Creek SA and are 100% single estate. This wine is a unique blend consisting of 76% Shiraz and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruits were harvested from 11 March to 7 April 2014 and bottling date was 19 October 2016.

    WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?

Heavy red with purple hues in colour. The nose offers up dark, earthy notes with complex spice and a distinct Langhorne Creek regionality. The palate is earthy, elegant and well balanced with grainy tannins providing great structure. A snappy acidity offers a vibrant finish. A great example of the seamless integration of Langhorne Creek Shiraz and Cabernet to give the consumer a complete experience.

  • WHO MADE IT?
  • Home to the Oldest Accredited Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in the world, Brothers in Arms encapsulates Langhorne Creek's pedigree for great red wines that convey balance, structure and texture. The first planted vines at "Metala" in 1891 included the above mentioned Cabernet as well as the region's oldest Shiraz - two acres of each variety which still flourish today and form the backbone of our flagship wines. Brothers in Arms continue to produce wines that are true to the estate and true to the Langhorne Creek region.

JAMES HALLIDAY - HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION

76% shiraz, 24% cabernet sauvignon and 1% petit verdot, matured in French barriques (10% new). A lively medium-bodied blend with a supple palate typical of Langhorne Creek, its complex suite of earthy/fruity flavours rolling serenely across the mouth, coming back again and again as the wine is revisited, the fruit fist in the velvet glove having the last word. Great value.'
