  • Stella Bella’s five distinctive vineyards are located throughout southern Margaret River. An area of the region chosen for its cool climate and ability to produce elegant, aromatic and medium bodied wines with personality and precision. Their farming practices aim to improve soils and maintain vine health. This gives them the ability to make subtle changes, responding to the season and surrounding environment. Creating fruit that reflects the climate, soil and character of southern Margaret River. In the pursuit of vine balance, they use respectful techniques such as organic fertilisers, mid-row cropping, spring plantings of buckwheat and minimal chemical inputs. All of these practices help with nutrient cycling and encourage beneficial insect species throughout the vineyard.

Handmade and created in small batches, the wines are alluring, displaying elegant yet complex layers that reflect the season, the vineyard and southern Margaret River. Each wine is created to evolve beautifully over time and made only in exceptional vintages.

Pale straw with a light golden sheen. The wine has fragrant aromas of zesty lime and nashi pear, with struck match and cashew notes, all showing great intensity and harmony. The refined and textural palate continues with citrus - grapefruit and lemon - supported by the complexity of nougat and subtle smoky matchstick character. The texture is juicy with a taut framework complemented by spring water minerality – the melding of delicately spiced oak and beautiful fruit is faultless. A wine of great length, elegance and definition that coats the palate perfectly.

'Hand-picked, whole bunch-pressed, wild and cultured yeast, matured for 11 months in French barriques (40% new). Pale straw-green; this is pure class, in one sense understated, in another absolutely compelling in its purity, focus and length. It will revel in the security of its screwcap, gaining greater complexity over the years ahead as its mix of grapefruit and stone fruit expand. Drink some now, some later, and some much later.'

'Light yellow colour, with a complex bouquet showing toasty, nutty oak and possibly malo butteriness, some smoky hints, too. Lovely bouquet. The palate is intense and soft, medium to full-bodied and rich, with a long satisfying aftertaste. Excellent.'

'Plenty of struck match, cashew, lime and pear, with spicy oak neatly tucked in. Light to medium bodied, a subtle cucumber rind bitterness and coolness, flint and smoky struck match, gloss and cashew cream, juicy and chalky finish of excellent length. A bit of work and technique, but has enough flavour and weight to carry it along. Very nice.'
