DESCRIPTION
  • The philosophy of the Bleasdale winemaking team is to capture the essence of what makes Langhorne Creek red wines so attractive – vibrancy, harmony and texture. Cabernet Sauvignon has elegance and captivating depth of flavour, Shiraz is a ripe fruit style with refined cool climate spice elements and Malbec is perfumed and finely structured.

The Generations Wines celebrate multiple generations of family involvement and grower relationships. Shiraz was the first red grape variety planted in Langhorne Creek at Bleasdale in 1858 and continues to thrive today. Individual vineyard blocks are picked and crushed separately before maturation and blending.

  • WINEMAKER'S NOTES

De-stemmed to open fermenters, for a short soak. Fermentation peak at 30°C with up to 4 pump overs per day. Drained & pressed after 9 to 12 days on skins, settled for 24 hours before racking to oak for MLF. Maturation was carried out over 12 months in French oak puncheons and hogsheads, 22% of which were new.

    TASTING NOTES

Flavours of ripe plums and other dark berries are layered with liquorice, pepper and fresh spices, these marry beautifully with subtle oak nuances giving a complex wine balanced by smooth round tannins.

  • REVIEWS

'Matured for 12 months in French oak (22% new). A thoroughly inviting bouquet of mixed spices, purple and black fruits and cedary oak; the palate is likewise labrador-friendly, awash with plum and black cherry fruit, but retains its shape and focus. An ever-reliable wine that fully justifies its price. Trophy for Best Shiraz Langhorne Creek Wine Show, gold medal Adelaide Wine Show '16.'
