DESCRIPTION
  • Stupefying value Cabernet from the crew at Bleasdale. The Mulberry Tree is a flavour-packed astonishiment of ripe Cabernet goodness. Berries, cacoa and mocha, violets, bay leaf and earth. With 95 points from James Halliday, and medals galore, this is a wine of insane value at $15.90 a bottle.

The Mulberry Tree is named for an ancient tree that grows on the banks of the River Bremer. This flows through the Bleasdale Vineyard on its way to Lake Alexandrina. The maritime influence of ‘The Lake’ is excellent for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, allowing ripe fruit flavour to co exist with soft supple tannin. An elegant wine with aromas of mixed berries, dark chocolate and violets. The palate is smooth with blackcurrant and spicy oak flavours and finishes with fine chalky tannins

'Destemmed and crushed, open-fermented, 11-15 days on skins, matured for 12 months in French oak (15% new), gold medal National Wine Show '16. Vibrant colour; pure cassis fruit leads the way on the bouquet and medium-bodied palate, but when you look behind the stats and find harvest baumes from 13.2 to 14.1 and cap management in the fermenters you realise the nature and extent of Paul Hotker's magical touch.'
