'A flavoursome wine, fuller bodied with good acid-tannin balance, and a certain restraint, which is great.'
93 Points - Jane Faulkner, Wine Companion
Shiraz is the traditional grape of McLaren Vale and is Coriole's flagship variety. The first Coriole Shiraz was bottled in 1970. Coriole Shiraz is 100% estate grown with the majority of vines approximately 40 years old.
A bright, lifted nose with plum, dark cherry and spice. The palate is medium to full bodied with red fruits, dark berry and cigar box. A structural wine that’s rich and creamy with well integrated oak and fine grained tannins. Confidently cellar this wine for 10 - 12 years.
Alc/vol - 14.5%
'Dark purple-inky; a flavoursome wine, fuller bodied with good acid-tannin balance, and a certain restraint, which is great. Cedary, spicy nuances, dark plums, damp earth, blueberries and chocolate. Overall this is both bright and richly flavoured.'

'A long, shapely and cellarworthy Shiraz whose musky, peppery and spicy aromas of fresh red berries, dark plums and chocolate/cedar oak reveal nuances of cola, dried herbs and a fiery, earthy aspect. It’s fullish to medium-bodied, with an assertive core of vibrant dark berry/plum fruit and mineral notes framed by a firmish spine and wrapped in a fresh, balanced. acidity.'
92 Points - Jeremy Oliver
'Nutty oak and perfume, nougat, blackberry and boysenberry. Medium to full bodied, a bit tangy, with sticky tannin and raspberry pip and conserve flavours too. Some coffee and slick of earthy tannin to close. A good, rather than great Coriole Shiraz, though sometimes these are the ones to watch.'
