'Here is just about every spice and red berry you can imagine from this Southern Rhone blend. A truly wonderful trattoria wine that soars on the savoury finish.'
95 Points - James Halliday

  • Miss Harry is bit of a Barossa institution. A classic Rhone style blend, with fruit sourced from some pretty ancient dry grown vineyards.

The 2015 vintage is all class. Starting with the usual GSM backbone, there is also a little touch of Cinsault and Carignan this year. Herbs, spices, cherry and a creamy touch of oak. This is a 'banger' as the kids might say these days. It's the new wave of Barossa.

  • WINEMAKER'S NOTES

The 2015 vintage is a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Shiraz, Cinsault and Carignan. These varieties are historically grown in the southern Rhone Valley of France near the Mediterranean, and are blended together to make the local wine. These varieties also have a natural affinity for the Barossa Valley.

Ranging from younger selections massale of century old vineyards to 140 year old vines. Dry-land, unirrigated, rye grass between rows, mulched under vine, hand pruned.

Vinified with 28% whole bunch, cold soak, on skins for twenty days. Oak aged for 12 months in French oak barriques.

    TASTING NOTES

Bright red with a medium purple hue. The aroma is of cherries, strawberries, spice and Provencale herbs. The palate is wonderfully fresh and with juicy forest fruits, dried herbs and a creamy complexity derived from its maturation on yeast lees in old French oak barrels. The concentrated fruits, fine tannin and perfectly integrated acid complete the wine.

  • REVIEWS

'A light, brilliantly coloured blend of Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan. Finely wrought and balanced, there is just about every spice and red berry you can imagine from this Southern Rhone blend. A truly wonderful trattoria wine that soars on the savoury finish.'

'Miss Harry is now also known as Harriet’s Blend. It’s made using grenache (62%), shiraz (16%), mourvèdre (14%), cinsault and carignan. 28% whole bunches and no new oak. The balance is right here. It’s fruit-driven but savoury-spiced; it’s not heavy but it’s not light; it flows; it ripples out through the finish. The blend feels right on the money. Can’t go wrong. All the equations add up'
