DESCRIPTION
  • Named after K.H. (Mick) Knappstein, but made by the artful Tim Adams, Mr Mick Wines offer incredible value for money, showcasing the beautiful Clare Valley region. One of Mr. Mick's passions in life was making wines for everyone to enjoy. This philosophy is evident in the wines, and carried on today by Tim.

  • WINEMAKER'S NOTES

Premium Tempranillo fruit, fermented for a week with its skins, was then gently pressed, with the pressings separated in order to ensure a smooth silky palate. The wine was then matured using French oak before fining, filtering and bottling. It is suitable for drinking anytime from the present to ten years of age.

    TASTING NOTES

Crafted in typical Mr Mick style, this wine has distinctive varietal character of cherries and strawberries, subtle French oak perfume flavours with smooth tannins, a hint of spice and a long lingering finish.

  • REVIEWS

'A delicious Tempranillo at an incredibly sharp price. It tastes of redcurrant, cola, chocolate and vanilla, the flavour profile ripe and sweetish but the finish roasted, spicy and dry. It doesn't look dark or deep but there's impressive volume to the flavours. It's ready now. Mad not to seek this out.'

'Sourced from three separate vineyards in the Clare Valley, this is a beautifully aromatic wine with an overlay of savoury oak. The fruit is very primary and in the red sphere. The palate is soft and gentle. The oak is a little heavy for the fruit, but that aside, it is a vibrant, easy drinking red to be enjoyed in its youth.'
