'Like its Pinot Noir sibling, fruit is sourced from high quality sites, a mix of new and used French oak barriques with the end result a finely tuned wine.'
95 Points - Jane Faulkner, James Halliday's Wine Companion

  • Tomboy Hill is a tiny vineyard planted in 1984 within viewing distance (2 km north) of the Eureka Rebellion site.

The vineyard is planted in the Burgundian mode, 1m x1.2m grid and low-trellised, and is still, by necessity, hand-pruned, hand-sprayed and hand-picked. Ballarat's climatic similarities with Burgundy influence the mode of viticulture and wine-making, with only chardonnay and pinot noir being grown.

Rebellion, is the second label of Tomboy Hill, however it is fast becoming the premier wine, and most recognisable of the brand.

  • WINEMAKER'S NOTES

A beautifully balanced wine with lifted white peach and nectarine aromas. The palate displays apple, lime and stone fruit along with spicy vanillin oak nuances.

  • REVIEWS

'Like its Pinot Noir sibling, fruit is sourced from high quality sites, a mix of new and used French oak barriques with the end result a finely tuned wine. A mix of stone fruit, lemon peel and pith with moreish creamed honey-leesy notes. Plenty of body to this, yet neat acidity ensures it remains fairly taut, precise and alive.'
