Leroux’s Auxey-Duresses is drawn from three terroirs—Les Hautés, La Macabrée and Les Boutonniers—all abutting Meursault’s Les Vireuils Dessus and Les Meix Chavaux. The land here is north-facing and affected by the cold air rolling down from the Hautes-Côtes. The oldest vines date back to 1946. This was also vinified in 12-hectolitre casks and 300-litre barrels. The 2016 is a wonderful white Burgundy and a serious bargain - pulpy and super mineral, earthy and long.
'The 2016 Auxey Duresses Blanc comes mostly from the Meursault side of the appellation. It has quite a concentrated bouquet with a tincture of yellow flowers infusing the citrus fruit, later hazelnut developing with time. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, harmonious and poised with just a tang of spice on the finish. Recommended.'Neal Martin - The Wine Advocate
