'Dark. Dark and inky in the glass which immediately tells a bit of a story about the intensity of this wine. The nose is pretty but no shrinking violet – though it does smell a bit like violets. Violets and plums with just enough oak to add a further dimension. The wine’s impossibly soft, juicy, silky and seamless. It’s rich, it’s round, it’s long, it’s velvety. It’s really, really delightful. It’s delicious.'

'Full throttle. Full. Old hit of dark berry and plummy fruit character, loaded with espresso and Black Forest Cake scents – the palate is similar with an incredibly thick, lush, syrupy flow of fruit. This is an unashamedly huge wine, pulsing through the palate with staining flavours and a breathy warmth. For all that, balance isn’t quite there, but it will knock your socks off if that’s what you’re after.'

Miss the old-school wines that used to feel like a punch to the face from a man wearing a bonds singlet, with a flannel jumper rapped around their waste and the requisite Winnie Red hanging out of their mouth? Well this is one for you.
It's Shiraz from the big end of town. Like really big. It's got guts, and it's got gusto. Massive fruitcake dense fruit, with chocolate, plum, blackberry and spice, this is a grand old wine, from an almost bygone era. Jeanneret may have updated the label, but they are still riffing from a time long forgotten. And did we mention the oak? Well this has pine forests coursing through its blood. Unabashedly a monstrous wine. Don't mind if we do. Alcohol - 15% (oh but of course...)
