DESCRIPTION
  • Named after K.H. (Mick) Knappstein, but made by the artful Tim Adams, Mr Mick Wines offer incredible value for money, showcasing the beautiful Clare Valley region. One of Mr. Mick's passions in life was making wines for everyone to enjoy. This philosophy is evident in the wines, and carried on today by Tim.

Pursuing the philosophy of innovation, another wine style has been added to the Mr Mick repertoire and the rest of the range; an ‘easy-going’ wine that creates interest and satisfies many tastes. Being a popular Italian style, this ‘Novo’ (new) Sangiovese Malbec suits a broad array of cuisine, light in style with juicy red berry fruit and soft mellow tannins.

  • WINEMAKER'S NOTES

Dry-grown Sangiovese and Malbec, fermented in separate batches for a week on skins, was then gently pressed with part of the pressings incorporated in this blend for added texture. This wine has not been aged in oak, allowing maximum fruit expression.

    TASTING NOTES

Bright red fruits, with a subtle earthiness from the Malbec. The palate is light and juicy, framed by good acidity and mild-mannered tannins. An easy-drinking style designed to match with a range of dishes.

  • REVIEWS

'It's incredibly light, both in colour and flavour, but there's a seriousness to the tannin and it has plenty of well-defined length. It's chewy. It's refreshing. It's savoury. It's Clare Valley Chianti, of its own design.'
