'Absolutely classic Paringa, one of the best - if not the best - of the early starters, with full-on cool climate shiraz thrust..'

  • Dispatched direct from Winery

Schoolteacher-turned-winemaker Lindsay McCall has shown an absolutely exceptional gift for winemaking across a range of styles, but with immensely complex Pinot Noir and Shiraz leading the way. The wines have an unmatched level of success in the wine shows and competitions Paringa Estate is able to enter, the limitation being the relatively small size of production. His skills are no less evident in contract winemaking for others.

Shiraz, sourced from a vineyard on Paringa Road, with a little touch of Viognier (5%) thrown in the mix. Balanced, pepper, and laded with dark berries and spice.

  • WINEMAKER'S NOTES

The bouquet of this wine shows spicy blackberry fruit along with the lifted floral Viognier aromatics. The palate has black fruits, black pepper and fine grained tannins. A medium bodied wine with texture and power but with a fineness that reflects its cool climate origin.

  • REVIEWS

'Absolutely classic Paringa, one of the best - if not the best - of the early starters, with full-on cool climate shiraz thrust. Likewise, classic blackberry, blood plum and licorice flavours are supported by fine tannins and subtle oak.'
