''Aromas of smoked strawberry, slight lees and toast; palate nicely different, complex with a lively minerality, lees character, almost oaky, and a lovely cured meat note. Well-played.'

Want the gold-standard in Provence Rose? Then look no further than the Petale de Rose from Chateau La Tour de L'Eveque.
Made by superstar winemaker Regine Sumeire, who was the first winemaker to develop the pale, blush coloured Rose's that the region is now famous the world over for (when she decided to use a vinification methodology for pressing the whole-bunch grapes used more commonly in Champagne), the Petale de Rose is an inspired wine that stands head and shoulders firmly above the other wines of the region.
Made from a collection of 8 varietals, it is uniquely aromatic, and has one of the most amazing textural mouthfeels you are ever likely to come across in Cotes de Provence. The nose is lathered with white flowers, rose petals, orange rind and red berries, the palate more rich with an underlying tension of fresh citrus and, redcurrant and honey. It is without doubt one of the best Rose's we have ever imported.
Made organically (certified) using bio-dynamic principles, the fruit is sourced from the dynamic estate in the Maures Hills, near the village of Gasin. If imitation is the best form of flattery, then this Rose is well and truely the original, and the best, in a world full of copy-cats and also rans.
“ There is something so fresh, so spicy, so finessed about this wine. It’s as if the essence of the fruit has been captured: its floral perfume, its red berry flavor, its peppery spice.” ~ Bill Zacharkiw, The Gazette (Montreal, Canada)
Grapes are harvested manually; wines are made from organically grown grapes certified by FR BIO-10.
Hand-harvested and carefully sorted, the grapes are placed directly in the wine press (a Champenois Coquard press) without being crushed. Only a light pressing is given to maintain maximum delicateness and aroma.
Located in the hilly area of the Maurettes, the estate’s terrain consists of shale soils derived from Silurian phyllite, and Permian red sandstone. This terroir produces wines that are full-bodied and mineral.
The color of this wine is a clear medium salmon with beautiful aroma of floral, herbs, strawberry, apricot and melon. Dry and medium bodied, this rose displays fresh red fruit, wild herbs, and mild spice with a long finish. The grapes are handpicked, sorted and directly loaded into the press to minimize stress and to obtain delicacy.
