DESCRIPTION
  • Roustabout wines are made from grapes grown on mature proven wines, in the coolest climatic regions of South Western Australia. They aim to produce the utmost quality possible in each wine, showing strong varietal and regional characteristics. The Pratten Family, inspired by the "can do" attitude typified by poet Henry Lawson's character "Andy", make these wines with great care, combining the best of both modern technology and the will to produce the best from Australia's diverse and exciting South Western cool-climate viticultural regions.

  • WINEMAKER'S NOTES

A hot, dry summer with January temperatures at 3 deg. C above the mean maximum temperature saw fruit being picked up to 10 days earlier than usual in Pemberton. Despite an earlier harvest, the fruit quality was exceptional with Pinot Noir fruit as a standout.

    TASTING NOTES

A nose of bright cherry and spice, with a floral edge, underpinned by more savoury, earthy notes. The evidence of a great vintage is there on the palate, with fine-grained tannins, and plump, juicy acid. Hints of oak ageing are starting to show through, leading to a wonderfully savoury finish.
