The Cuilleron family domaine is located in the hamlet of Verlieu, part of the town of Chavanay. As of 2012, the domaine is comprised of 52 hectares of vineyards, covering multiple appellations including, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph Rouge and Blanc, Cote Rotie, and Saint-Peray. Le Lombard is 100% Marsanne from 55-year-old vines planted in east/southeast orientation on the slopes of the Côte de Verlieu.
High density planting in sandy, granitic soils. No insecticides or pesticides are used in the vineyard, and only a small amount of organic fertiliser is used, with respect to the soil and vine balance. Leaf-thinning and green-harvesting are employed to promote grape maturation.
This has a very fresh, vibrant peach and nectarine nose. Extremely pure. Some apricot kernel and fresh almond blossom. The palate has seamlessly composed, gently fleshy and balanced pear and stone fruit flavors.'

Light brilliant yellow. Meyer lemon, pear nectar, pungent flowers and a vanilla nuance on the perfumed, mineral-accented nose. Sappy orchard and pit fruit, candied ginger and honeysuckle flavors show impressive depth as well as energy and delineation. Becomes livelier and spicier with air and finishes broad and long, featuring building spiciness and a touch of smokiness.'

Attractive floral notes on the nose, which are almost Alsatian in their aromatic style - rose, tropical fruits. Fat and fleshy on the palate. Moderate length.'
