Bleasdale is rich in history at producing some of Australia's most exciting, consistently impressive premium wines. Whether a Bleasdale wine is $12 or $70, whether it is a Sparkling Shiraz, a single vineyard Malbec or the Frank Potts Cabernet, it conveys a story in the glass that substantiates its history, diversity and, increasingly, its pedigree.
In 2011, Bleasdale began sourcing Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc from the cool-climate Adelaide Hills region, and has quickly built a reputation for quality and value white wines.
Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris grapes are handpicked before a 30 minute drive by our specialist growers to Bleasdale's cellars in Langhorne Creek.
Handpicked grapes are whole bunch pressed to tank for settling. 20% wild yeast fermentation in seasoned oak puncheons to build texture and complexity. The remainder is fermented cool in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness & purity.
Oak Maturation - 20% barrel fermentation in seasoned French oak puncheons for 6 weeks before returning to blend.
This delicate wine shows all the spice and perfume we expect from cool climate Pinot Gris. Nashi, ginger and rosewater perfume leads to a rich and textured palate with nutty complexity from the barrel ferment component, finishing crisp, fresh and balanced.
Cellaring Potential - Drinking well now until 2020.
Alc/vol - 13.0%
