Dandelion Vineyards defies normal description, it is perhaps Australia's most quixotic fusion of vineyard and vigneron. Every bottle signs off with - Wish you were here... Every wine is sourced from a single site. Founder, owner, winemaker - Elena Brooks - is a polymath and perfectionist on a lifelong vinous treasure hunt, following the inspiration of the Dandelion Flower's Wishing Clock. Vineyards = Family. Wines = Children. Serious stuff. Proper fun, absolutely.
JAMES HALLIDAY - HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION
Hand-picked, crushed to open fermenters, 8 days on skins, matured for 18 months in mainly used French oak. High quality Barossa fruit, part grown by famous vignerons, floods the mouth, and the cool vintage has preserved the elegance and juicy highlights of the fruit. Oak has made a perfunctory contribution to a lovely wine.
A little wet wool and reductive fuzziness across ripe blackberries and mulberries. The palate has better clarity, as well as smooth flavors of fleshy red plums that bolster the mid-palate. Drink now.
DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS 2019 - SILVER
Blackberry jam, violet, and earthy plum characters. The palate is rich and full bodied, but with a soft texture and smooth tannins.
