'X-factor? Yes, in spades, as the crushed strawberry fruits stream through to the finish and aftertaste'
95 Points - James Halliday
Brand new edition to the Helen's Hill stable of super high quality wines. Here is a single vineyard Rose, hand-picked and gently pressed off skins to produce a super whimsical but detailed rose with that classic strawberries and cream character running through its veins. Soft, supple and super easy drinking - makes summer heat that little bit easier with a glass of this in hand.
Hand picked at harvest, the fruit is gently pressed off skins to extract the minimal of colour. The juice is then fermented for approximately 4 weeks in old French oak barrels to add both texture and complexity to the final wine. After primary fermentation, the wine is matured in stainless steel tanks to maintain a fresh, clean finish.
The colour of the wine is iridescent pink with hints of bright copper. The nose is a mixture of wild berries, strawberry and hibiscus. The palate is true to the nose displaying a wonderful array of wild berries, strawberry and flora characters. The mouth feel is enhanced by complexity and texture from time in old oak. The finish is dry and fresh, making the wine devilishly food friendly.
'Bright, light-pink; it has a particularly fragrant bouquet of red flowes, which in turn provide the flavours of the glistening palate. X-factor? Yes, in spades, as the crushed strawberry fruits stream through to the finish and aftertaste'

'Nowhere does it mention the grape varieties from which its made, which may unnerve some, but not me. Strawberries and cream, crushed fennel and dried flowers. Light to medium bodied, attractive mouth-perfume, soft texture, barely ripe strawberry acidity, and a clean finish of fair length. Easy to like.'
