2017 Pazo Cilleiro Albarino

2017 Pazo Cilleiro Albarino

A lively yet elegant Albarino with vibrant bouquet of tropical fruits, white stonefruit, citrus, jasmine and honey. The palate mimics the nose creating a lovely, round textural mouthfeel. Zesty acidity adds crispness and balance to the mid-palate and leads to a persistent and refreshing finish.

DESCRIPTION
  • Scintilating maritime influenced Spanish white here, that comes in at an impressive price. Sourced from Galicia, the wine carefully balances the green apple crunch, with a chalky saline quality that makes it a perfect apertif style of drink.

Albarino is on the move in Australia, and this is the perfect entry-point.

  • WINEMAKER'S NOTES

The winery is located in Arbo, Pontevedra, where the wines are produced and bottled using modern equipment and techniques. This is a “Vino de Pago” winery, producing wines with grapes from a single estate or property. The vineyard is very carefully managed to ensure excellent quality. It was planted after merging more than 200 small farms, the property of more than 70 different owners, plot by plot - a clear reflection of the Galician “smallholding”. The Albariño vines are cultivated on trellises, giving more airy, sun-kissed and less acidic grapes than those obtained with other vine-training techniques.

    TASTING NOTES

Lovely aromatics of green apple, honeysuckle, citrus and grapefruit with hints of herbs on the nose. The palate is bright and refreshing with vibrant fruit and mouth-watering acidity. A classic Spanish Albariño that would be a wonderful match for seafood.
