"The Resurrection Shiraz has a fine tannin structure and clean acid line which cuts through a good level of mid palate sweetness. Dark fruit of plum and mulberry, white pepper and hits of rhubarb round out to a long, smooth finish." James Lienert, Winemaker.
Dark plum and blackberry fruit on the nose, with a palate that is such a mouthful of dense flavour. Chunky fruit at every corner.
After managing a B&B in the south of France, Martin and Vivienne Rawlinson were inspired to establish St John’s Road in 2001, with a vision to produce full flavoured, yet elegant, wines which reflect the essence of the Barossa. The current owners aim to uphold Martin and Vivienne’s vision of producing wines that are not only true to the Barossa, but also the sub districts and vineyards they are grown in. Unquestionably, Barossa is the hero for St John's Road and reds are the main focus, with a suite of Shiraz, Grenache and blends a particular highlight.
SAM KIM - WINE ORBIT
Sweetly fruited and perfumed, the inviting bouquet shows Black Doris plum, raspberry, mixed spice, olive and cedar characters. It’s succulent, rounded and supple on the palate, packed with delicious fruit flavours, nicely framed by polished tannins. At its best: now to 2027. AU$35.00. www.thewinecollective.com.au. Jan 2020.
