A great wine that will deliver all you want in a cool climate cabernet without breaking the bank. All the juicy dark red berries we love come to the fore alongside bramble, dark chocolate and violet characters, all wrapped up in earthiness and fine-grained tannin. It's a medium-bodied red that's soft, fleshy and elegant. If you're keen to see what a bit of cellaring will do, give it 3-5 years.
The grapes were destemmed, crushed and fermented slowly for 2-3 weeks extracting bright flavours and elegant tannins from the skins. Following pressing the wines were left to mature in 300L French oak hogsheads for 12 months prior to bottling in April 2018.
Classic aromas of blackcurrant, plum and raspberry leaf, cigar box and freshly turned earth. Elegant, fine and long. An explosion of summer fruits and complex earthy notes suggesting a long future.

JANE FAULKNER - HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION
Loads of leafy freshness with currants, fresh mulberries and blackberries all marking its varietal status while the regional imprint ensures an elegance thanks to its fine-grained tannins and lighter body.
GARY WALSH - THE WINE FRONT
Dark chocolate, blackcurrant, a pleasant tobacco and leafy character. Medium-bodied, fine powdery tannin, attractive ‘adult’ flavour, in that it falls to savoury and gently herbal, rather than simple fruit sweetness. Crisp finish. So nicely turned out and good to drink. Thumbs up.
