Usher Tinkler is one of Australia’s most dynamic young winemakers. Along with his grandfather and father, he is apart of three generations of farming expertise; the dairyman, the cattleman and the winemaker. They all share the same name and united passion for the land. As a tribute to this, Usher Tinkler Wines was born. Usher and wife Ebony bought and renovated the original Pokolbin Church, that was built in 1905, to create a place to showcase their new brand. Shifting a gear in the Hunter Valley the wines are authentic yet adventurous. Blurring the lines between traditional and contemporary winemaking. Wines that create discussion – born for sociability.
Enjoy unique flinty, funky, mineral notes with overtones of white peach. This single-vineyard wine is produced in small batches, from an exclusive selection of Chardonnay vines in the sandy loam soils of Tinklers Estate, Pokolbin, NSW.
'Vanilla slice, vanilla cream, a generous squeeze of lemon juice too. Soft and sumptuous - a super inviting type. There's a calming lemony drive and white fleshed nectarine playing second fiddle. A whisper of caramelised fig adds further happiness. The mouth of coated generously with that fine spread of creamy complexity urging you to sink your teeth into it. I could nestle in and drink this long time. And perhaps I just did. Classy Hunter Valley Chardonnay Mr Tinkler - take a bow.'

'There’s a greener pick, new barrels that Usher Tinkler brings in from Burgundy, a shift in thinking about the style. Older vineyards that went to Mt Pleasant, now back in the winemaking realm of Tinklers. This is a killer release. Cork sealed but with the TCA-tested ‘1by1’ ones in the neck.
Bright, complex, satisfying chardonnay of fruit vitality and clarity yet judicious winemaking overlay and oak-lees seasoning. It smells of fresh cut nectarine, citrus, lemon blossom, faint nougat and slate. The palate takes on similar characters, sort of fleshy but very fresh, and, indeed, finishes with a starburst of saline-grapefruity tang that draws long and refreshing. Touches of chalky ‘mineral’ notes also chime in. It’s fantastic, drinking wonderfully.'
