  • WHO MADE IT?
  • Vincent Paris is a native of Cornas and his first vintage was in 1997. He inherited most of his vineyards (some of which are 100+ years old) from his grandfather and purchased some from his uncle, legendary Cornas vigneron Robert Michel, on his retirement in 2006. The biodynamically farmed vineyards are located in various parcels along the southeast facing Cornas slope. Vincent's wines exhibit power, yet possess a determined freshness and elegance to them. His Granit 30 and Granit 60 take their names from the slope and gradient of the vineyards and average vine age respectively. Vincent's famed Geynale parcel is comprised exclusively of old vines planted in 1910. Vincent Paris is without a doubt one of the rising stars of the Rhône Valley.

    JOE CZERWINSKI - WINE ADVOCATE

Don't overlook Paris's outstanding 2017 Saint Joseph Les Cotes. It combines blueberries, espresso and pepper in a medium to full-bodied format that's supported by silky, fine-grained tannins and plenty of length. Like previous vintages, it's approachable young, but it should have the stuffing to age up to a decade.

HUON HOOKE - THE REAL REVIEW

Deep, dark red/purple colour, bold and youthful. The bouquet is shy and reserved, gently meaty and spicy, with some cold tealeaf flavours and abundant firm, dry tannins. It took a while to open up. Excellent intensity and concentration, freshness and elegance, the aftertaste lasting a long time after the finish. Delicious!

    JOSH RAYNOLDS - VINOUS

Points: (90-92) Lively cherry and boysenberry aromas are complemented by smoky mineral, olive nuances and a hint of cracked pepper. Sappy black/blue fruit flavors show very good depth. Hints of allspice and licorice build as the wine opens up. Shows very good power and energy on a long, energetic finish that features supple tannins and lingering olive paste and smoky mineral qualities.

    JOSH RAYNOLDS - VINOUS

Deep brilliant ruby. Smoke- and pepper-accented dark berry and cherry aromas pick up suggestions of licorice and pungent flowers with air. Sweet and lively on the palate, offering ripe black and blue fruit and spicecake flavors that unfold as the wine opens up. Finishes long and smooth, with lingering dark fruit notes, supple tannins and a touch of spiciness.
