DESCRIPTION
  • Yabby Lake can do no wrong when it comes to making stand-out wines. This pinot gris is no exception. It’s refined and fresh with bright fruit aromas and a delicate floral lift. Winemaker Tom Carson lets the fruit do the talking, and talk it does. This gris is seamless and refreshing with great depth of fruit flavour and a long, clean finish. Wonderfully versatile, it will work its magic next to seafood, tomato based pasta dishes or a good aged cheddar.

  • WINEMAKER'S NOTES

The fruit was handpicked on 3 March and whole bunch pressed. The juice was then cold settled and wild fermented with 50% in stainless steel and 50% in old French puncheons (500L).

The 2017 vintage is a classic in the making. A mild but windy spring lead into a cool summer and extended autumn. The wines are classically proportioned and destined for a long life.

Beautifully textured palate, delicious depth of fruit – with nashi pear and subtle spice. Seamless and refreshing, the wine finishes long and fine.

    Region: Mornington Peninsula
    Winemaker: Tom Carson
    Alcohol Content: 12.5

  • REVIEWS

'Hand-picked solely from Block 2, whole-bunch pressed, part fermented in used French puncheons. The aromas of the bouquet are positively heady with floral cherry blossom, then a textured and intense palate with far more to say for itself than all but a few of its combatants.'
