Graziano Prà lives the vigneron life with the authentic passion of a craftsman, following the family tradition of his father and grandfather.
In Monteforte d'Alpone the ancient black soils of volcanic basalt, have contributed to enhance the wines of Soave. Prà was able to capture the best from the extraordinary terroir of his vineyards, creating wines of great finesse and elegance, characterized by a pleasant mineral vein.
100% Garganega, from 30-60 year old vines.
The grapes are pressed softly before undergoing fermentation at 16 - 18 degrees C. The wine is fermented and matured in stainless steel vats.
The wine has an attractive lemon colour and a bouquet bursting with notes of flowers and crisp fruit. Aromas of hawthorn and jasmine are particularly prominent, as are exotic yellow and white fruits such as peach and apricots. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied and flavoursome, full of fruit, with clear mineral notes. The wine is easy drinking and has an aftertaste of hazelnuts and nutshells.
Located in the heart of the Soave Classico DOC near Verona, Cantine Pra is run by brothers Sergio and Graziano Pra, the former tending the estates 25 hectares of vineyards and the latter in charge of the cantine. The Pra range of wines are considered to be one of the benchmarks for the region including the Soave Classico, an un-oaked Soave Classico Superiore, Monte Grande, the barrique aged Soave Classico Colle Sant' Antonio and a stunning Recioto di Soave Classico. A producer that is totally in tune with their terroir and what the varieties Garganega and Trebbiano are capable of delivering in the glass.
