The First Creek Winemaker's Reserve collection encapsulates regional and vineyard provenance, winemaking skill and integrity, as well as the essence of the First Creek style. Grapes are selected from benchmark vineyards, only in vintages when the fruit reaches the pinnacle of viticultural quality. The result is small batches of exceptionally rare and special wines.
The 2018 Winemaker's Reserve Semillon offers a vibrant citrus zest aroma, with flavours of lime pith balanced with a chalky mid palate. The wine is carried by a seamless acid backbone giving it a great line and length. It's approachable now for those who enjoy younger Semillon, but will certainly age well in the cellar too.

JAMES HALLIDAY - HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION
The use of a heavy glass bottle for semillon is rare. The wine has a highly expressive bouquet, lemongrass and a haunting touch of spice, the palate building on the promise of the bouquet with citrus-tinged acidity that has already stamped the wine but with none of the sharp edges that can bring tears to the eyes of the unwary. A particular feature of the wine is its high alcohol, unusual, but works like a charm. Top gold Hunter Valley Wine Show '18. Gold 2018
TONI PATERSON MW - THE REAL REVIEW
A beautifully fresh and focused aroma. Excellent lemon pith spiciness and depth on the palate. Great potential. One to age, if you can resist it in its youth.
NICK BUTLER - THE REAL REVIEW
Straw colour with the faintest green tinge. Poised, with just-ripe lemony aromatics. It's classy and carries a lovely tang; that sherbert tingle that screams of pristine fruit. Brilliant viticulture and winemaking.
