  • WHO MADE IT?
  • THE BRIEF
  • Hailing originally from Campania, this frisky little Riverland take on Fiano by young upstarts Unico Zelo is a cracker. It comes from the highly esteemed Ricca Terra vineyards, and is all about the mineral drive and tangy sherbert acidity. With a little skin-contact it's also a rippled with apple skin and grapefruit pith that cleanses the palate and keeps everything driving along.

Unico Zelo have of late been taking their winery to the next level, with some serious international attention coming their way. In fact the Jade and Jasper Fiano has made it all the way to Decanter Magazine in the UK, where the 2017 vintage scored a whopping 93 points and was dubbed 'first class'. If you have yet to board the Unico Zelo train, then hop on and make their Fiano your first port-of-call. A winner, and an easy summer drink.

    Vegan Friendly too!

  • THE FINER DETAILS
  • A labour of love and passion, originally hailing from Campagnia, Fiano is a variety of incredibly ancient heritage. A true pleasure to craft. One of the most complex noses of any white variety.

Method: 24 hours skin contact, wild ferment, matured in stainless steel.

    WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?

Full of white peach blossoms, honeydew and lemon, all covered in a generous splash of Grannysmith Apple. This continues onto an electric palate, lifted by a rich fruit-sweetness, and sparked to life with a crispy acidity. A pleasure to drink at any time of the day.

  • WHO MADE IT?
  • Inspired by the desire to craft uniquely Australian wines that speak strongly for our sites, soils, lifestyle and culture - Brendan and Laura Carter ventured into the desert-regions of the Riverland to identify varieties that require minimal intervention in the vineyard - existing on some of the most ancient soil in the world. Their soil-first ethos dominates their winemaking, aiming to shepherd the process rather than influence it - making use of a raft of post-modern philosophies such as amphora, wild ferments, skin contact and minimal sulphur use.
