Baileys of Glenrowan is one of the pioneers of winemaking in North-East Victoria, producing its first vintage in 1870. Since this time, Glenrowan has become a world-renowned winemaking region. Baileys of Glenrowan continues to be recognised as an acclaimed producer of full-flavoured red and luscious fortified wines. Durif is synonymous with North East Victoria, having first arrived in the region in 1908. The region has forged a distinctive style of rich, ripe fruit, assertive tannin and a great capacity to age in bottle. This wine is made in the best tradition of the north east, being full bodied, opulent, well-textured and rippling with tannin. The depth of fruit and structure suggest the wine will improve in the bottle over many years.
An even growing season without any heat spikes allowed fruit to ripen slowly and be harvest at peak timing. Vines were well balanced also delivering ideal conditions for fruit to naturally vine ripen.

JAMES HALLIDAY - HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION
From the '19 vintage, all Baileys table wines are certified organic. It also represents a shift in the winemaking, just backing off a bit. Allowing the fruit to shine more as is the case here, made with whole-berries in the ferment giving the wine such vibrancy. It's also spicy, juicy, medium-bodied with neatly pitched tannins and delicious. A durif to savour and drink.
