  • THE BRIEF
  • In 2019 James Halliday called Turon 'one of the 3 best new wineries' in that years companion. Turon White is certainly fast making a name for himself as one of the rising stars of Adelaide Hills, making exciting, bright wines with buckets of character. In 2019 he was also named among the top 50 Young Guns of Wine.

This wine comes from his artist series, the fruit is sourced from Lenswood and is vinified with 30% whole bunches. This is a vibrant Pinot Noir with lifted perfume and tonnes of red fruits, a summery Pinot and definitely a delicious one.

  • WHO MADE IT?
  • 'Since our first vintage in 2013, our vision has always been to showcase wine varieties that excel at growing in the subregions of the Adelaide Hills.

We produce minimal intervention, cool climate, vegan friendly wines that express natural characters true to grape variety and terroir.

We aim to create elegant wines with intense flavour, wines that are approachable and yet intriguingly complex.'

    Turon and Alex

Turon & Alex are newlyweds who founded the Turon Wines label together.

The couple were married (over a glass of wine) in the Adelaide Hills in October 2018.

They are working with the vision to produce wines that showcase varieties that excel at growing in the cool climate subregions of the Adelaide Hills.

JAMES HALLIDAY - HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION

Hand-picked MV6, 70% destemmed, 30% whole bunch, matured in French oak (20% new) for 9 months. Good mouthfeel and varietal expression; cherry is in the drivers seat, plus hints of rose petal and spice. Good grapes here.

    JAMES SUCKLING

Very floral with some savory, porcini and spice aromas, as well as toasty oak spice and youthful, modern, meaty complexity. The fruit sits in the blackcurrant and blueberry zone. The palate has a succulent, juicy feel with bright acidity boosting the rich fruit. Gently nutty tannins. Drink or hold.

HUON HOOKE - THE REAL REVIEW

Medium to deep red/purple colour, with a bouquet primarily of smoked charcuterie, with a bit of gravitas, which also translates to the palate where it has weight and persistence. Good intensity and freshness, the flavour making a deep impression. A lovely wine in a weightier, more earthy style than this maker's other pinot. (30% whole-bunch)
