Gordon & MacPhail is one of the most famous independent Whisky bottlers in the world today. While they also produce beautiful Speyside malts under their own label, Benromach, their history and reputation is firmly based in maturing and bottling malts acquired from various distilleries all over Scotland. The wonderful advantage of maturing and bottling from other distilleries is the range and freedom it gives them - rather than being tied down to one region or style, they offer whiskies from every region! Located in the North-East of Scotland, they have been bottling Single Malts for over 119 years.
Distilled over 18 years ago at the Mortlach distillery in Dufftown. Filled into a first-fill bourbon barrel in 1999, this Mortlach is beautifully fragrant and sweet, carrying light and complex flavours that run from vanilla pod to ripe melon and other tropical fruit scents. The palate builds from a cream butterscotch note to stewed or baked apples, with a zing of lime. Bottled 2018 at 57.2% ABV
