DESCRIPTION
  • Gordon & MacPhail is one of the most famous independent Whisky bottlers in the world today. While they also produce beautiful Speyside malts under their own label, Benromach, their history and reputation is firmly based in maturing and bottling malts acquired from various distilleries all over Scotland. The wonderful advantage of maturing and bottling from other distilleries is the range and freedom it gives them - rather than being tied down to one region or style, they offer whiskies from every region! Located in the North-East of Scotland, they have been bottling Single Malts for over 119 years.

Passion for single malt Scotch whisky has been at the heart of Gordon & MacPhail's family business for four generations. The Connoisseur's Choice range is an ever-changing collection of unique perspectives on various distilleries - non-chill-filtered, single cask and small batch expressions bottled at cask strength and exceptional one-offs. For the malt whisky explorer, it promises a journey of discovery through different flavours, finishes, strengths and vintages.

Ledaig (pronounced Led-chig) is produced by the Tobermory Distillery on the isle of Mull - the only distillery on the island. This lightly peated expression was distilled in 2004, bottled in 2017. It's a wonderful combination of spicy fruit and light smoky notes - an island classic!

  • WINEMAKER'S NOTES

    TASTING NOTES

This particular expression from Ledaig Distillery was matured in Refill Bourbon Barrels. The whisky has vanilla and tropical fruit aromas, which mingle with lemon and cured meat notes. The palate is sweet with ripe banana and green apple. A lingering smoky finish.

'A subtle nose with zingy orange and barbecue lemon. A silky mouthfeel delivers hot sand at the beach, mineral, roasted marshmallow, lemon sorbet and spent ground coffee beans.'
