A blended whisky coming from the famed Chichibu Distillery in Japan, and meticulously crafted by master distiller, Ichiro Akuto. As the name suggests, the whisky is a blend of malt and grain spirit. But what it doesn't tell you is that select barrels are shipped in from all over the world, including the U.S, Canada, Scotland and Ireland. These are then carefully blended with Chichibu's own barrels - potentially including Hanyu and Karuizawa - and aged at the distillery. Truly the world's blend!
Sweet and delicate vanilla aromas intially, followed by bolder citrus and fruit notes. Alongside is a toffee/caramel tone, with poached pear and spice. On the palate, the whisky expresses a subtle hazelnut character, with softer vanilla and spice. A hint of fresh ginger flares up on the mid-palate, before waves of honey, spice and nut roll through on the finish.
