  • THE BRIEF
  • Taking muscat to an even higher level of intensity, depth and concentration of flavour, this wine is lusciousness in a bottle. It's rich, deep brown with nutty rancio, spice and raisin fruit flavours. The 'Muscat of Rutherglen' trademark assures the highest quality of wine from this iconic region. For the ultimate experience, pair with pan forte, an English cloth cheddar or rich dark chocolate.

  • THE FINER DETAILS
  • The grapes are left until late in the season to achieve optimum ripeness, ensuring maximum fruit flavour and a high degree of natural sweetness. Only selected parcels of premium fruit are added to the Classic Rutherglen Muscat solera. The wine that provides the basis of this solera dates back to the 1960's. Wine can only be withdrawn from this solera when it matches exactly with the previous withdrawal thus ensuring the quality and consistency of style. Great power and intense fruit with balance and elegance. There is evidence of mellow oak with the luscious lingering finish. Colin Campbell

    WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?

Rich, deep brown. Complex raisined fruit characters, coffee bean, dark chocolate and a distinct ‘aged oak’ lift. An incredible depth of luscious raisined fruit floods the front palate. Walnut, dark chocolate, ground coffee bean, vanilla and nutty dry mature oak characters add complexity, before an incredibly long, drawn out finish.

  • WHO MADE IT?
  • The Campbell's are a fifth generation winemaking family dedicated to continuing a tradition begun in 1870, of producing premium quality wines that reflect the distinctive characteristics of the Rutherglen region. Drawing on their intimate knowledge of the region the Campbell's can ensure that they grow grapes of the highest quality. The result is traditional styles of wines with finesse and a subtle use of oak complementing the full fruit flavours.Colin Campbell is the winemaker at his family's estate. Colin completed his diploma of Oenology at Roseworthy Agricultural College in South Australia. On his return to Rutherglen he brought with him new skills and oversaw the rapid expansion of the fermentation cellar to pioneer a new era for wine in the Rutherglen district.
