'A wine of considerable breeding and quality, and one of the better Blanc de Blancs I have tasted in recent times'
97 Points - Ron Georgiou, MW
Brimoncourt is an old name steeped in the history of Champagne that had disappeared from labels since the 1950s. Alexandre Cornot, a young former art dealer and native of Reims, revived the brand in 2008 and set out on a quest for the “perfect Champagne House”.
Cornot’s spirit of adventure and entrepreneur-ism is reflected in the lively wines with strong personality. His move to establish a new brand in the closed-off world of Champagne was a brave one.
The wines are born in Aÿ, the historical heart of the Champagne region. Their quest for excellence relies upon access to the best crus in Champagne.
This very fine blend is supremely full and elegant. Generous, fresh and subtle, Brimoncourt Blanc de Blancs is perfect as a distinctive apéritif... A well balanced Champagne, fresh and generous made exclusively from Premiers and Grands Crus Chardonnay grapes. A large majority of vines based in the Côte des Blancs gives this wine an exceptional elegance.
He has a very light yellow colour with golden glimmers. The typical nose opens on notes of fresh fruits with aromas of white flowers (hawthorn and acacia). The palate is fleshy, smooth, enveloped by the freshness of citrus notes, lemon, grape- fruit zest. A remarkable sweetness and a lingering mineral finish invite to prolong the pleasure.
Boasting 85% Grand Cru origins, this exceptionally fine Champagne has intense nutty and mineral aromas on the nose. The palate follows in fine style, with substantial and complex wet slate minerality, layered with nutty/brioche and toasty complexity. A wine of considerable breeding and quality, and one of the better Blanc de Blancs I have tasted in recent times''

'An exemplary aperitif-style Champagne whose toasty, floral fragrance of stone fruit, minerals and mushrooms reveals nuances of tobacco leaf and brine. It’s exceptionally long and creamy, with a restrained presence of fruit tightly wrapped in a vibrant, nervy acidity and culminating in a refreshing and mineral finish.'

'Pale colour. Fresh grapefruit, pear, grilled nut, light lanolin, flinty aromas. Mouth filling wine with generous grapefruit, lemon glacé, yeasty flavours, persistent creamy bead and underlying grilled, toasty, briny notes. Finishes chalky dry but long and minerally. Beautiful Champagne.'

'Champagne house based in Aÿ with notably smart packaging. Very tight, steady tiny bead. Light but taut nose. The back label promises this is peu dosé (lightly dosed with sugar) but actually it tastes pretty ripe and full to me before tightening up like a lemon mousse on the finish. Ambitious.'
