  • THE BRIEF
  • On its centennial anniversary, Canard-Duchêne created the exceptional Charles VII cuvée in tribute to the Champagne region’s royal past. The refined bottle and exclusive design houses a majority blend of Grands and Premiers Crus.

Made from the finest black grapes sourced exclusively in Montagne de Reims, it is a symphony of intensity, complexity and flavours.

  • WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?

The cuvée Charles VII blanc de noirs is a champagne as elegant as it is powerful. To the eye, golden yellow robe. To the nose, intense and complex with spicy notes. On the palate, a beautiful maturity revealed through aromas of candied and lightly stewed fruits as well as succulent pears.

  • WHO MADE IT?
  • It all started with the love of Victor Canard and Léonie Duchêne. In 1868, they created the eponymous Maison Canard-Duchêne, driven by a bold vision : to reveal the exceptional potential of their hillside village, located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims.Popular with the Tsar Nicolas II and the imperial court of Russia, Canard-Duchêne was granted the priviledge of displaying the russian coat of arms. The Canard-Duchêne domain is in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, surrounded by celebrated vineyards and stunning landscapes. A true piece of Canard-Duchêne’s oenological heritage, Pinot Noir draws its character from the nutrient-rich soil of the Montagne de Reims, the product of 70 million years of evolution and unique combination of limestone, chalk, clay and sands. Canard-Duchêne’s unique identity stems from the character and elegance of Pinot Noir: it brings structure to the wine, enhancing fruity notes of cherry, sour cherry, blackberry, redcurrant, strawberry, and raspberry, creating the house's signature wine style of freshness and intensity combined with refinement and character.

Fabulous toasty yeast autolysis dominates the nose and has a thread of minerally peach elements. The tight lean palate has cumquat and green apple-like flavour profile.' 5 Stars
