The winemaking here is innovative and thought-provoking: early picking, low yields, barrel fermentation, and a lengthy 6-month period on lees. The ultimate goal is to create a wild, spicy, nutty, and citrusy extravaganza wrapped around a taut core of minerality and freshness.

Critic Reviews
Several clones, hand-picked from the Longview Vineyard, whole-bunch pressed, wild-fermented in French oak (10% new), matured for 6 months on lees. A thoroughly lateral approach to vinification (and harvesting) leaves white pepper buzzing on the back-palate - challenging, polarising stuff.
Great texture. Good body and structure. Smooth, flinty, lively. Great acid. Really lingers. Notes of nashi pear, rockmelon.
Citrus, lemon and lime, grassy, very fresh subtle nutty note to finish.

Winemakers Note
This is sourced from the Longview vineyard and was hand picked in early February, whole bunch pressed and wild fermented in French Oak Barrels. It is sourced from several clones. The low crop ensured the fruit was at optimum ripeness when picked. The wine spent the next 6 months on lees in barrel before being bottled. The oak is about 10 % new and a mixture of formats.
