This wine is the epitome of Barossa Cabernet. A wine that, from the outset, sings the tune of hearty Barossa reds. Released with a few careful years of rest in the winery cellar, it's a red that straddles the fence between ripe Barossa fruit and then structure and elegance. With a monster 97 points from Huon Hooke and a long, celebrated history of sky-high points and positive reviews, this is undeniably fine red wine just itching to be in your cellar.
Very deep, concentrated red purple colour, the bouquet powerfully concentrated and intense with blackberry cabernet fruit underlined by sensitively balanced oak, and assertive but harmonious tannins that run the full length of the palate. Rich but mellow. Plenty of years ahead of it of course but it’s in its mature, drinking prime from here. Leather and toast, Black Forest cake with peppermint sprinkled on top. A wide spread of dusty, velvety tannin is a highlight. It’s as old school as they come but its quality must be acknowledged.

Tasting Notes
Red colour with great depth. Aromas of blackcurrant & blackberries, mint with hints of vanilla and dried autumn leaf. A full-bodied wine with cigar box flavours and powerful red berry fruit characters
Winemakers Note
The fruit for this stunning wine are sourced from a vineyard high in the cool-climate Eden Valley in the Barossa Ranges, and blended seamlessly with fruit from the Barossa Valley floor with its concentrated rich fruit flavours. The wine underwent traditional fermentation in stainless steel static fermenters with a portion of fruit left on skins to undergo extended maceration to develop its complexity. The balance underwent primary and malolactic fermentation in predominantly French oak, and then matured in new and 2 to 4-year-old oak for a further 18 months.
