The Collective Review

We do believe this is an awesome value deal on some top shelf Yarra Valley Chardy! This is excellent, flavoursome Chardonnay, worthy of a place in your wine fridge, on the racks in your cellar, or on the table at your next dinner party.

‘Tarrawarra’ is a Woiwurrung word that translates approximately as ‘slow moving water’ and is the name given to the area in which the Estate is located within the Yarra Valley. Legend has it that the term ‘Tarrawarra’ refers to a bend in the nearby Birrarung (Yarra River), which courses from the Yarra Ranges through to Melbourne, flowing south of the Estates' expansive grounds.

Kasia Sobiesiak - The Wine Front

Citrus-focused wine, grilled lemons, yellow grapefruit. A hint of struck match. Salty nuttiness. The aromas are very appetising and my mouth is salivating already. An elegant note of vanilla bean lingers under the layer of fruit. Lemon curd texture, glossy, satin feel. Yellow peach flesh finish. Cool, calm, collected. A complete, elegant wine and very tasty.

Pale lemon colour. Roasting cashews, struck-flint and yellow nectarine aromas. Enters the palate with intensity of fruit and layers of smoky complexity. The acidity sits throughout driving it well, then it fills a little richer and textured into the finish.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of grapefruit and lemon zest with underlying notes of cashew nuts. The tight palate reflects the season, with texture derived from 10 months on lees and a lovely drive with persistence of flavour. With oak and tank maturation, the wine shows an elegant complexity with appealing freshness.
