The Collective Review
Don’t let the name fool you, the Kung Fu Girl Riesling is anything but facile.
Actually, the yarn behind the name is a good one. Washington state-based winemaker Charles Smith was eating Chinese takeaway one night and watching a fight scene in a ‘notorious’ martial arts film when he had an idea - why not make a ‘killer white wine made to be paired with Asian food?
It’s hardly novel here in Australia to make Asian-food-friendly wines, but Charles took it to the next level, complete with the label name to match!
This generous, slightly off-dry and juicy white wine is such a fun drink, with a perfect combination of peachy flavour and enough acidity to keep everything fresh.
The result is a wonderfully generous white wine of real personality that honestly works so well with modern Australian cuisine.
Floral aromas, rose petal, saline character on the palate. A bit off dry. Good palate weight. Very pleasant! Read more
