The 2020 Chardonnay Verum was made with grapes from Fernández Oro, Río Negro and 1/3 aged in used barrels. Pale green in color. The nose presents notes of green apple with hints of citrus fruit, hazelnuts, a little oak and lemon zest. Sugary from the lees with heightened freshness, it maintains its terse texture and watery flow. A wine of intense flavor.

Tasting Notes
The bouquet unfolds with subtle hints of toast and vanilla, on top of a core of tropical fruit. The wine is rich but still in balance with its freshness. Great use of oak here not overpowering its natural stone and orchard fruit notes. And continues to a long finish.
Winemakers Note
Nestled in the picturesque setting of Gral. Fernández Oro, in Rio Negro, Patagonia, the vineyard is strategically positioned at 40° South latitude, benefiting from an east-west exposure that ensures optimal sunlight. At an elevation of 245 meters above sea level, the vines, now a decade old, thrive in clay loam soil. With a vine density of 5,500 vines per hectare and a deliberate yield control of 1 kg per plant, the focus is on quality over quantity, ensuring the production of a concentrated and expressive wine.
The winemaking process is carefully controlled, with fermentation temperatures maintained between 16 to 17°C over a period of 15 days, to preserve the varietal's characteristic freshness and complexity. Aging is thoughtfully approached, with 10% of the wine maturing in American oak barrels and the remaining 90% in stainless steel tanks for six months, striking a balance between the oak's subtle influence and the grape's natural vibrancy. This careful aging process is completed with an additional six months in the bottle, allowing the wine to achieve a harmonious maturity.
This meticulously crafted Chardonnay stands as a testament to the unique terroir of Patagonia, delivering a wine that is both rich in character and elegantly structured, ready to enchant wine enthusiasts with its refined balance and depth.
