This wine is part of the <redacted>, a range all about experimentation and gosh it’s a fun one. There’s ripe, seductive raspberries, black cherries and kirsch, mastic spice (think grown-up pink musk sticks) and figs in syrup. Very ripe and silky in the mouth, it’s boozy, at 14.9% alcohol, but this is cradled in loads of juicy fruit and so presents as just a buzz of warmth. The tannins are rounder and softer than you expect from Sangiovese but still perfectly varietal in the way they build on the back of the palate with a finish like chewing cacao nibs. Pair with mounds of pasta topped with the thick, rich, comfort-inducing ragu of your choice.

Sam Kim - Wine Orbit

A lovely expression of the variety showing sweet cherry, dried herb, game and dried flower nuances on the nose, followed by a medium-bodied palate that's finely textured with fine polished tannins. Beautifully styled and well suited to partner savoury dishes.

Tasting Notes

A wine with a killer acid line and big structural tannins balanced with generous lashings of integrated fruit Cherry fruit, earth and oak.

Winemakers Note

Medium-bodied red, garnet in colour, made from Sangiovese grapes grown in the Langhorne Creek bed. Sangiovese is an absolute knock out wine with anything Italian; pizza and pasta of all sorts, tomato based sauces or even a creamy mushroom risotto. Cellar for 1 - 10 years.
