2021 Redbank Victorian Merlot

Finding good, well-priced Merlot is surprisingly hard work. There is an ocean of inexpensive Merlot out there, but most of it either has no flavour, is too sweet, or is just plain bad.

Enter the 2021 Redbank Victorian Merlot.

Redbank is a King Valley-based producer with a bent for classy cool climate wines, and this Merlot comes from a single vineyard in the cool heights of NW Victoria. Made in a style that we only wish was adopted by more Aussie Merlot makers, this plump but classy red has this lovely core of plum fruit with fine tannins and easy appeal.
