Following that grand tradition comes the latest Shiraz in the range. What makes this red great is the Hunter-ness. It tastes of plum and dark berries as is the Shiraz way, but there's earth and savouriness too, the style more about medium bodied flavour than trying to be all firm and boozy.
Tyrrell's 1858 Hunter Valley Shiraz 2021 gets everything right when it comes to Hunter Valley Shiraz. It's so ripe and juicy and moreish, yet medium bodied, light on the oak, and high on the drinkability. Classic Hunter red, from an 11/10 vintage, and already drinking well.

Tasting Notes
The nose is seductive and bursting with fruit characters. The palate is medium bodied with rich dark berries atop a velvetty blanket of soft, elegant tannins.
Winemakers Note
Matured in very large older oak barrels, with Tyrrell's deliberately picking their grapes earlier to give more freshness (and lower alcohol) without sacrificing flavour.
