The Collective Review

Randal Tomich, a renowned viticulturist celebrated for developing some of South Australia's finest vineyards, has meticulously cultivated the Woodside vineyard. This exquisite single-vineyard wine has been crafted with exceptional attention to detail. Affordably priced, it offers remarkable value when you compare it to its equally priced peers.

The oak presence in the bouquet is immediately noticeable, warmly welcoming you with its nutty, toasty, and butterscotch tones. Initially, the fruit aromas seem somewhat subdued but promise to develop over time. On the palate, however, the experience is more pronounced, with delightful flavours of white peach, green apple, and sweet citrus coming to the fore. The wine has a pleasing length, finishing with a slightly resinous touch. Given time, its various elements are expected to integrate seamlessly.

White lilies, crushed sandstone, grapefruit pith and white peach with coconut water freshness followed by cloudy apple juice and honeysuckle. A moderate palate with restrained French oak use. The natural elevated acidity is nicely tamed by partial malo which gives it a fresh cheese creaminess. This feels comfortable in its price point and a lovely platform for getting to know the house style of Tomich Chardonnay
