The Collective Review

It's rare to get such a bargain on organic Margaret River Shiraz from a top vintage. This is a clean and delicious wine that has been wild fermented in open pots, then hand-plunged and basket pressed in French oak for 12 months.

Winemaker Ben Gould from Blind Corner calls 2022 a "cracking vintage" and this wine being full of "berries and spice perfect for the coming months".

The colour is ruby red and plums and cherry can be found on the nose along with spices of cinnamon, clove and white pepper. It's a juicy red with a full-body, gentle tannins, and a long finish. You'll be yearning for more as it has a great balance between sweet and savoury.

Our Tasting Panel's tip is to chill it slightly with about 30 minutes in the fridge prior to pouring for a fantastic summer afternoon drop.

Juicy, super clean, Shiraz, with loads of red and dark berries. Palate is full, loads of berry and chocolate. Really moreish. A Shiraz that you can drink, very easily. Even with 30min in the fridge and it works a treat. Read more

Subtle black berry and mineral qualities, the palate is black and blue fruited, with blueberries and blackberries with a touch of floral lift, this wine has subtle oak which champions the clean fruit here with medium body, medium chalky tannins and touch of cinnamon and spice in the finish.

Nice smell. Mulberries, blackberries, good intensity of aroma. Tannins are a tad grippy, but everything else is excellent. Great acid, good fruit concentration.

Tasting Notes

Crafted by Blind Corner. It has a deep ruby colour with hints of purple. Aromas of dark cherry and plums are met with subtle notes of pepper, cinnamon and cloves. The palate is full-bodied and juicy with a pleasant balance between sweet and savoury. The tannins are smooth and gentle, with a long, lingering finish.
